• Induced abortion one week before
• Incomplete septic abortion
• Foul smelling discharge
• Significant blood loss
• Developing fever
• Perforation in posterior wall of uterus
  

Interventions:

• IV antibiotics
• IV fluids
• Blood transfusion
• Surgery to repair perforated uterus and gut (colostomy) and hysterectomy
  

Cause of death: Incomplete abortion resulting in sepsis
